Action List

Scene One, introduction

Jack: Wakes up and turns alarm off, and gets up and makes bed, in a neat and orderly fashion

Jack: Gets his clothes from the side of his table/desk that he set ready the night before and had them all folded up and ready.

Jack: Whilst getting his cloths ready to put on, talks to his mum briefly.

Jack: Whilst getting up and ready jack is very calm and does everything in a swift and smooth manner.

Jack: Puts on his top, jeans, sock and shoes in a smooth fashion like he is prepared and used to this routine, making sure no creases are in place.

Jack: Brushes teeth in an even fashion, 5 brushes on each section. Before suddenly stopping as the voice in his head begins to speak. 

Jack: Getting his jacket on, collecting keys and walks out of the door.

Jack: Once out of the door he stops, put his earphones in and plays an interview of a Cannibal before he puts his phone in his pocket and continues to walk to the bus stop

Scene Two, Travel

Sits at bus stop, waiting for the bus listening to the interview, suddenly has his attention drawn to the voice in his head and then quickly expresses some annoyance towards the unwanted interruption.

Scene Three, Liam & Kyle

Kyle: Expressing some annoyance that he has to hang out with Jack.

Liam: Expresses no worry about Kyle not liking Jack and acts a little confused as to why Kyle doesn't like Jack.

Kyle: Tires to explain that he thinks Jack is strange

Liam: Begins to show some annoyance that Kyle is being a little mean towards one of his close friends.

Jack: Walking up to his friends with some curiosity as to what was just said, assuming it was about him.

Jack (Ethan)

“Ok, I’m meeting with Liam after college today so I might be in late”

“Ok that’s no problem, say hi to Liam for me”

“Will do”

Scene 2 Travel

So Jack, is today going to be the day?

Jack Voice over (Ethan) 
No it's not, now leave me alone. 

Scene 3 Liam & Kyle

*Whilst waiting for Jack to walk to them*

Kyle (James)

Why do we even have to hang out with him? He’s strange

Liam (Daniel)

What do you mean he’s strange? You’re strange!

Kyle (James)

I don’t know I just get a creepy vibe from him. He acts so strange.

Liam (Daniel)

Kyle, right now you’re the only one acting strange, Jack’s a cool dude, besides,

Me and him have been friend for as long as I can remember and our parents have known each other since before we were born. At least he makes an effort.

Kyle (James)

Alright fair enough.

Liam (Daniel)

Anyway here he comes, so let’s change the subject…Hey Jack, you alright mate?

Jack (Ethan)

Morning guys

Morning mate

Kyle (James) *With slight pause*

Jack (Ethan)

So lads, where are we heading for lunch

Listen, you need to be quiet, you can’t keep distracting me from college or from people around me.

Kyle (James // In background of call)
Dude hurry up, our food is coming over

Jack (Ethan)
Yeah, yeah no problem mate, I'll see you at lesson.

Unit 14: Digital Magazine Production // Emma // Update on Digital & print magazine difference L.A A

There are a few noticeable differences between a digital and a print magazine. One of them being one you can hold in your hands and turn the pages in person and have been around since the first magazine that was released in 1663 in Germany, the other being one that you just read online.

Pros for print magazine: You can read it anywhere in a bigger version instead of on a small screen on your mobile, for example, on a bus.

You also get a different kind of enjoyment when you have something in person than on your computer.

You can for example collect magazines that could also limited edition and can be worth a lot of money in the future.

You don’t need to have an electronic device and an internet connection to own a magazine, you just need some money to get the magazine.

Once you buy it, it’s yours for ever

Cons for a print magazine: If you’re in a rush to get somewhere and you need to suddenly put your magazine away to keep getting to your destination, then you have to find a place to put your magazine.

If you spill something on or rip your magazine then you can’t replace or fix it, it will be damaged and you might not be able to buy the same copy again because you either can’t afford it or that issue isn’t out anymore.

Pros for a digital magazine: You can take it anywhere with you as long as you have a digital device like a mobile or tablet.

You can also just quickly pop your phone in your pocket if you need to quickly move or need to focus on something else and not have to take time putting any paper away in a bag or possibly in the bin.

The magazine can fit into your pocket pretty much since it’s on your phone (if that’s the device you’re using) and you won’t have to worry about finding a place to put your magazine.

You can read a digital magazine anywhere on any device. You can read your magazine on a mobile, tablet, laptop or any other device that can have download and open files on.

You can have every single issue the magazine publishers have to offer without having to worry about having a clutter of magazines in your home that could take up a lot of space.

Easier to share with friends. Either screen shot or send a link.

Won’t have ware and tear.

It’s a cheaper for publishers to get the magazine out into the world

They can use an analytics tool to find out what how long readers spent on their magazine and what pages the liked most.

Once you’ve subscribed and as soon and the issue gets released, you will have the issue straight away.

Eco friendly.

Cons for a digital magazine: Depending on what device you’re reading the magazine on the screen of your device might not fit the proportions of the magazine on correctly. So it might require you to zoom in and out a lot to be able to read the magazine correctly and be able to read the text.

If you can’t use, can’t afford or just simply don’t have an electronic device then you won’t be able to read the magazine’s that are published. The same can happen if you don’t have an internet connection. If you can’t buy the magazine online, then you can’t see the magazine.

A survey was done by Freeport Press Newsletter in September 2018 to see “How We Really Consumer Our Magazines”

This survey generated 1,226 responses.

Whilst looking through their questions and checking their percentages from their survey last year compared to this year. I found out the following

1)    In the past month how many DIGITAL magazines have you read?

The result was 55% have NOT read a digital magazine in the past month whereas

last year it was 59%...So around 4% more people have read a magazine in the past month than the results last year

2)    How many PRINT magazines do you subscribe to?

This year 43% do not subscribe to print magazines, last year it was 45%, showing that 2% more people have subscribed to a magazine.

It also says that 25% of people subscribe to 3 or more magazines and last year it was up to 2%. This shows a massive 23% increase in how many magazines people have subscribed to since last year.

3)    How many DIGITAL magazines do you subscribe to?

73% do NOT subscribe to any digital magazines, last year it was 76%

Telling us that 3% more people have subscribed to a monthly magazine than last year.

4)    How much time do you spend with each DIGITAL magazine on average?

52% said they don’t read digital magazines this year, and 54% last year.

This shows us that 2% of people spend more time reading digital magazines than they did last year.

5)    Last year 46% of people didn’t visit magazine websites whereas this year it’s dropped to 42%. Meaning that 4% more people visit magazine websites this year than last year.

6)    How much time do you spend on magazine content via social media?

This year 63% of people don’t follow magazine content on social media. Last year it was 72%...Showing that 9% more people spend some time on reading magazine content via social media.

When reading part of the questionnaire that was given to people to gather a portfolio/reader profile I can see that the majority of the people who answered these questions were between the ages of 55-65 (22.76%), had an income of $50,000-$74,999 (25.24%), are in the South Atlantic (17.36%) and the majority were female (50.83%)
