Emma Magazine Assignment 18/10/2018 Learning Aim A

Whilst at home after college I've been working on the double page spread that Emma gave us as part of our assignment, since she gave me my feedback on what I should work on for my front cover, I didn't have much time during her lesson to continue working on my double page spread during her lesson so since ya boi has some spare time and doesn't have anything going on tonight, I worked a lot more on my double page spread and will be emailing the link to Emma so she can have a quick look at it and possibly give me anymore advise on it.

In today's lesson, I've been finishing up the front cover for Emma's assignment that she has given me and added a few more things that she suggested whilst I had my 1 to 1 with her this morning.

For todays lesson, we're continuing our assignment that Emma gave us to do. I've pretty much completed my front cover of the work so far, and will be getting Emma to take a look at it and let me know if there is anything else for me to work on.

I've also been working on my double page spread and that has been coming along alright also, again I'll be waiting until I next see Emma to get her opinion on what else I could do for it and how it could be improved.

Magazine Assignment Emma: 11/10/2018 Learning Aim A

In today's lessons with Emma and Neil we're continuing our magazine assignment that Emma gave us. Emma gave me an opinion that it could be more in-depth on what I'm describing and have more information on it. So that is what i've been working on today.

Sound and Editing work Neil 09/10/2018

For this lesson, Neil is away ill having the poops so he's given us a task to complete research into editing and sound.
We need to make sure we are aware of the different techniques and terminologies for each aspect.
We had to also find some examples using YouTube of film film clips and analyse them, highlighting how editing and sound create impact for an audience.

From first view of this film, it seems like a low ish budget film, that is just filmed from the rear windows of the buildings and focuses on the community of the people around the buildings who appear to be in a down town kind of area and are going through a heat wave.

Psycho Mis en Scene

In the scene. We see the two main characters of the Psycho film (Norman Bates and Marion Crane) talking whilst Marion eats food that Norman brought to her.

Both characters are wearing old fashioned cloths, due to the film being released in the 60’s

In the background we can see a couple stuffed birds, a tall candle, and a couple of pictures on the wall.

We can also see that Marion is eating some food that Norman has provided for her, we can see there is a couple slices of bread looking food on the bottom screen that is next to a jug.

There are also a couple of books on the table/desk that we can see so Norman probably likes to read in his spare time as well as stuff birds.

Norman isn’t eating in this scene, and whilst she is eating Norman describes Marion as eating like a bird. This isn’t a knowing conversation to Marion so she doesn’t really talk much. It would seem that Marion is curious to how Norman think, and due to the way Norman’s mother speaks to him, she seems to have some sympathy towards Norman.

When looking around the room, you can see that all the birds are staring at Marion the same way that Norman is, suggesting that Norman is watching Marion as a prey style. Suggesting that he will never keep his eyes off her until he catches his prey.

When the two are talking you can see that the camera angle for Norman are mostly low angles tilted up, suggesting a more dominance about the character, whereas for Marion they are more eye level shots, making her an equal to the audience.
